Kathryn Lofton
In 2023, Indiana University’s Gamma chapter of PBK welcomed Kathryn Lofton, the Lex Hixon Professor of Religious Studies and American Studies and Professor of History and Divinity at Yale University, back to Bloomington from February 16-17, 2023. Previously an Assistant Professor of American Studies and Religious Studies at IU Bloomington, Dr. Lofton has written extensively about capitalism, popular culture, and the secular. She delivered a public lecture on Thursday, February 16, at 5:30 p.m. entitled “The Pulpit of Reason: Transphobia as Religious Practice” in the Grand Hall at Maxwell Hall.
