The Spring 2009 Induction Banquet was held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28 in Alumni Hall in the Indiana Memorial Union. Geoffrey Conrad, professor of anthropology; director of the Mathers Museum of World Cultures; and associate vice provost for research, delivered the address entitled “From Columbus and the Taínos to Captain Kidd and the Golden Age of Piracy: Indiana University’s Archaeological Research in the Dominican Republic.” One hundred fifteen students were honored at the banquet.
