Kent Griffith: Fast-Charging

B.A., 2013. Elected to Phi Beta Kappa in 2012. Undergraduate major: Chemistry. Minors: Mathematics and Geological Sciences.

After graduating from IU, which Griffith describes as “four amazing years filled with new experiences, challenging and interesting courses, and research in chemistry and mineralogy,” Griffith moved to England. Now in the final year of his Ph.D. program at the University of Cambridge, Griffith conducts research aimed at improving battery technology so a phone or laptop could recharge in a matter of minutes, rather than hours. “My fiancée and I plan to move back to the U.S. for postdoctoral research and eventually seek faculty positions,” he says.
